Brits Storm NYC on Crosby Street

New Yorkers beware, the Britpack are back and have set up camp on Crosby Street at the new Crosby Street Hotel, the latest jewel in the crown of Kit and Tim Kemp’s Firmdale Hotels. The proud owners of six properties in London, this is the Kemp’s first foray abroad and they are making quite a splash across the pond.

Famous for her fresh contemporary English panache, Kit Kemp mixes color and texture with modern and antique furniture to create a signature look and style that her Haymarket, Soho, Covent Garden, Charlotte Street, Knightsbridge, and Number Sixteen Hotel are all famous for in London. Adding extra cachet, Kemp was awarded the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year for 2008. Her latest creation is located on a quiet cobbled street in the heart of Soho between Prince and Spring Streets surrounded by some of the worlds most exciting shopping, bars, restaurants, cafes and galleries. The new Crosby Street Hotel, which in its previous incarnation was a car park, has been in development for the past two years and is one of the most environmentally responsible hotel builds in the United States. It will be one of the first hotels in New York to be certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the US Green Building Council.

With 86 bedrooms and suites over 11 floors in a beautifully designed building commissioned by Firmdale Hotels, it is destined to become a new icon in the landmark area.
