Celebrities Hang Ten in Santa Monica to Save Ocean
This Sunday, April 5th, Project Save Our Surf (SOS) will host its first annual surfathon where participants will charge waves for five-hours straight to raise money for Oceana, an international ocean conservation group. Surfer/actress Tanna Frederick and world-renowned surfer Shaun Tomson have joined forces to create the environmentnally-conscious event where celebrities, families, and local surfers will gather at Ocean Park Beach for a charitable surf session from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A gala benefit, hosted by Noah Wylie and Henry Jaglom, will follow at Shutters to generate more funds with live music, cocktails, food, and a performance by surf legend Tom Curren. World champion and profession surfer Pete “P.T.” Townsend will attend along with surfing celebs like Michelle Rodriquez of “Lost” fame. Face painting, yoga sessions, free massages, and a performace by the Nigerian Talking Drum Ensemble will add to the mix. So grab your stick and paddle out for a good cause this Sunday in Santa Monica. Tickets for the Celebrity Gala are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling 310-271-0202 .
