Dakota Mountain Lodge Opens in Park City

dakota lobbyPark City got a dose of high-end luxury with the recent opening of The Dakota Mountain Lodge. This posh new ski-in/ski-out resort is perched at the base of The Canyons, Utah’s largest ski and snowboard resort. The first ski resort in the Waldorf-Astoria Collection, The Dakota Mountain Lodge features 175 guestrooms with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. The rooms are tastefully decorated in warm neutral tones with elegant finishings and custom-designed furniture.  Mod cons include flat screens, steam shower, fireplace, private balcony, jetted tubs, and large kitchens. Suites are one-to-four-bedroom, and feature large gourmet kitchens equipped with stainless Viking appliances and granite counter tops. Outside, guests soak in the majestic views in an outdoor pool and hot tub with a fire feature.

With its sophisticated design and convenient location, The Dakota looks to be ground zero for Hollywood’s bold face names when they descend on Park City during Sundance.  Hollywood royalty will feel at home in the resort’s Presidential Suite. This six-bedroom suite boasts more than 5,000 square feet, including a private den, massage room, and master suite. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the The Great room offer panoramic views of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains. The adjacent Frostwood Gondola makes skiing a breeze with the assistance of ski valets. After hitting the slopes, check into the 16,000-square-foot Golden Door Spa for a restorative treatment. Modeled after the ancient honjin inns of Japan, the spa offers the perfect respite for tired muscles. Guests can relax with a daily spa treatment, or transform themselves during a destination program for 2-7 days. Dining options include the first outpost of award-winning San Francisco restaurant, Spruce, which serves contemporary American cuisine with a fascinating wine list.

For those who never want to leave, residences are available for purchase and range in price from $400,000 for a studio suite to a $2 million four-bed, four-bath suite. Special Fall rates start at $199. For more information or to book reservations visit here.
