Ferrari World Set to Open in Abu Dhabi
Adrenalin junkies will be racing over to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, set to open October 27. This enormous indoor theme park features the world’s fastest roller coaster with top speeds of up to 150 mph.
Set under a sleek red roof inspired by the Ferrari GT’s classic double curve profile, Ferrari World will be the largest indoor theme park in the world. Inside, visitors will either find motorsport heaven or Ferrari-themed hell, depending on your enthusiasm for racing. This sprawling complex designed for motorsport fans sits next to the outdoor Yas Marina circuit that hosted Abu Dhabi’s inaugural Grand Prix race. Located on Yas Island, on the northeast side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland, this massive theme park spans 2,152,782 square feet.
If you are an adrenaline junkie, Ferrari World sounds like a blast, with over 20 state-of-the-art attractions, including Formula Rossa, the world’s largest rollercoaster, reaching speeds of up to 150 miles an hour. The park also boasts the region’s first dueling roller coaster, Fiorano GT Challenge, a pair of Ferrari F430 Spiders twisting and turning through tight corners on a sprint to the finish line.
Other attractions include:
G-Force, an exhilarating tower ride that shoots thrill-seekers through the red roof and 62 meters in the air before plummeting back to Earth, experiencing the actual G-force of a Ferrari, in a seat directly inspired by the Ferrari Enzo.
Scuderia Challenge – Cutting edge racing simulators similar to those used by the drivers of the Scuderia Ferrari in training.
Viaggio in Italia – A virtual aerial voyage over Italy’s cities and their main monuments, mountains and coasts pursuing a Ferrari
For those looking for less of an adrenaline ride, sit in a Ferrari California Spyder convertible on a tour through Bell’Italia, a reproduction of the Italian countryside with model villages and tourist highlights like the lagoon of Venice, the Coliseum, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Among kid-friendly attractions, Junior GT lets kids drive reduced scale F430 GT Spiders and Carousel features never-before-seen Ferrari prototypes based on winning designs from a Ferrari competition.
Admission starts at $61 for adults. You can upgrade your tickets to include a skip-the-line pass and VIP lounge access for about $50 more. Ferrari World will be open six days a week, closed Mondays. For more information visit www.ferrariworldabudhabi.com.
