Bora Bora. Taha’a. Huahine. The names alone evoke images of sugary stretches of sand, palms nodding in gentle breezes and inviting azure seas. When speaking of French Polynesia, an armada of green volcanic islands scattered across an expanse of the Pacific equivalent in size to Europe, the imagination only begins to hint at what awaits. A recent assignment brought me here in search of Polynesian traditions and wellness practices. A sense of what I experienced can be gleaned from these images, but better yet, I suggest you take your own some day.
