HOTEL BUZZ: The Mondrian SoHo Set to Open in New York
The Mondrian SoHo offers special introductory rates of $229 per night when it opens in February.
SoHo’s latest luxury hotel, the Mondrian SoHo is set to open February 22nd. Housed in the neighborhood’s tallest high-rise, the Mondrian SoHo offers guests floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the New York City skyline. Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, the visionary behind the re-imagined Mondrian Los Angeles, designed the chic hotel and drew inspiration from Jean Coucteau’s 1946 French fantasy film “La Belle et la Bete”. The luxurious design includes distinct and whimsical environments, including a lush garden courtyard, jewel-box rooms, and an indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant.
The stylish hotel has 270 rooms including four spacious suites and a penthouse on the 25th floor. Each of the suites has an attached terrace and the rooms feature custom-made carpets, over-sized mirrors, chrome desks and translucent bathroom doors. Ten-foot ceilings provide a loft-like feel while the floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning city views.
The hotel’s restaurant, Imperial No. 9 will also open on March 1. Chef Sam Talbot will introduce his take on modern day east coast seafood and the bar will offer a selection of handcrafted cocktails.
Mondrian SoHo will be offering low preview rates of $229 until March 1. Stay between February 22, 2011 and March 2, 2011 and receive complimentary Continental breakfast daily. Reserve here using promo code SPINTR upon booking or call 800 606 6090 within the United States.
