Sip, Savor and Spa at the Vines Resort & Spa in MENDOZA, Argentina
A new luxe vacation residence to open this spring in Argentina’s most prestigious wine region with fire master chef Francis Mallman
Arguably the most famous chef in Argentina, Francis Mallmann is joining the most anticipated new resort in Argentine wine country. Located in the picturesque Uco Valley, The Vines Resort & Spa will premiere Mallmann’s new Siete Fuegos restaurant this March in time for the Grape Harvest Festival. Siete Fuegos is Spanish for “seven fires,” and it reflects the traditional Argentine cooking method that Mallmann perfected. “Seven fires are the seven techniques of cooking with fire I use for my cooking,” says Mallmann, who authored Seven Fires: Grilling the Argentine Way in 2009. “Simplicity is the goal of the kitchen design, and the seven distinct outdoor fires will show completely the tastes of both mild and intense cooking.”
Siete Fuegos will hold 60+ diners divided between indoor and outdoor seating areas, and the meat and wine options will be nothing short of epic. The restaurant is part of the Vines Resort & Spa, a new luxury development set in a 1,000-acre vineyard with the rugged Andes Mountains as the backdrop. The resort’s 22 villas are scheduled for completion next fall, and they will be available for purchase or rent.
The resort is affiliated with the Vines of Mendoza, the city’s premiere wine bar and tasting room. Santiago Achaval, the man behind the Achaval-Ferrer vineyard and its famous 98-point Malbecs, is their consulting winemaker.
