St. Regis Debuts in Mexico City
Mexico marks the latest frontier for the ever-expanding Starwood franchise. The recently opened St. Regis in Mexico City is the second property in Mexico by the luxury brand─the Punta Mita resort opened last fall.
Located on Paseo de la Reforma, overlooking the Plaza of Diana just two miles from the city’s main square, the new luxury hotel offers magnificent city views from its floor-to-ceiling windows. The striking glass structure, built by the architect Cesar Pelli, rises 492-feet above Mexico City’s congested streets. The modern interiors are the work of design firm Yabu Pushelberg and feature rich purple and green colors mixed with Mexican-inspired design elements like locally crafted furniture and carpets. Mod cons include a 42-inch LCD television with DVD player, a state-of-the-art sound system, and an MP3 docking station. A crafty LCD television hidden behind the bathroom mirror allows images to be projected onto a screenless surface.
Guests can relax from the chaos of Mexico City at the hotel’s Remede Spa that offers numerous rejuvenating treatments. Dining options range from the Diana Restaurant featuring Mediterranean cuisine, to the J&G Steakhouse. Detox with a healthy carrot beet juice at the Juice Bar or grab a cocktail in the sleek King Cole Bar.
Rates during the weekend start at $199 per night and weekday rates start at $379 per night. Book here or call (800) 598-1863.
