Third Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival Tunes-Up For Summer
This year’s festival promises a weekend of live funk, bluegrass, rock, Latin, and world beat music in spectacular Taos. Tickets on Sale May 18.
What’s quickly become Northern New Mexico’s music event of the summer is getting ready to take the stage for another tune-filled August weekend, with musical acts including Ozomatli, Matisyahu, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, Afroman, and Dangermuffin already confirmed, and many more acts to be announced over the next few weeks. Scheduled for August 20 and 21, the outdoor music festival is situated at the base of the Taos Ski Valley, surrounded by National Forest with the beautiful backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This year’s event will be produced by SBG Productions, Inc., producers of two other popular mountain festivals: Telluride’s Blues & Brews Festival, and the Durango Blues Train, held in Durango, Colorado.
Along with the music and entertainment, you can enjoy the festival’s marketplace and shop for crafts from local artisans and sample food from top area vendors and restaurants. Kids can enter a “Kidzone,” where they can go wild in the jumpy castle, get their faces painted, and play games. Besides the music and festive ambiance, we think another great reason to attend is the chance to check out this amazing area and take advantage of the deals being offered.
“Our lodging partners throughout Taos Ski Valley are offering great deals, as well as lodging packages that include your festival ticket, making your stay even more convenient,” said Alyson Hyder, Executive Director of the Taos Ski Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Early Bird two-day weekend passes and camping for the 3rd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival go on sale May 18th. Early Bird weekend passes are available for $75.00 each and are limited. Single day tickets go on sale Wednesday, June 15th. Children 11 years old and younger are FREE, but must be accompanied by an adult.
