TripAdvisor Debuts TripWow, A Free Share-Friendly Slideshow Program
We tried it and it’s pretty cool─and an easy way to share your travel images with friends and family.
Slideshows used to be associated with the painful exercise of ungainly trip post-mortems, where Uncle Joe would trot out the slide projector and make you sit through several carousel loads of Bass Lake boredom. Even if Uncle Joe is still snap-happy, you can now turn him on to TripAdvisor’s TripWow, a user-friendly slideshow program that’s super simple to use but also lets him play creative director, adding elements like music, animated maps, and captions to his latest ouvre. And just as importantly, you can do the sharing and viewing from the comfort of your own desktop.
To use TripWow, you simply upload photos and enter where you traveled. The program does the rest with straightforward prompts. TripWow images can also be easily shared with friends and family via e-mail or social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. (These easy-share options mean even if Uncle Joe happens to be one of the five people not on Facebook, you can still have him sit through your slideshow by just forwarding the email link). You can also embed your slideshow in websites or blogs. To learn more and get back at Uncle Joe, check out the TripWow site…
